Akshay Kumar had a nice way to remind Kjo of 'Bombay Velvet' debacle
And that's how you take a joke on yourself...
Mumbai: The trailer launch of Karan Johar’s ‘Brothers’ was a delightful event with the entire star cast marking their presence. Director Karan Malhotra whose last outing as a director turned out to be a blockbuster with 'Agneepath' returns with the official remake of 'Warriors'.
At the event Akshay was asked if the actors are ready to reduce the remuneration to back good content? Akshay keeping a poker face asked, " Are they ready to remove the remuneration?". He figured it later that the word is reduce and Karan Johar too jokingly asked, " I also want to know."
Akshay smiled and said, " Sure, Karan you should know about it" Karan shot back, " I am begging" and winked at someone sitting in front of him.
The actor further added, " The best way out is the actor himself becomes a producer ok, so you don’t have to charge yourself.” To which Karan with a hearty laugh said, “ And the producers become an actor.”
Known for his quick witty replies Akki did not let this moment pass and he gave it back, “Dekhiye aaj velvet ke kapde pehenke aaye hain to iska matlab ye nai hai ke app actor nai hai (Just because today you are wearing a velvet jacket doesn’t mean you are not an actor).”
Anurag Kashyap’s big budget film ‘Bombay Velvet’ failed to impress the audience and failed at the box office.
Meanwhile the duo laughed off the situation and the joke was taken in a sporting manner. Karan said, " Kya jale pe namak chidkar rahe ho yaar." Akshay defened himselfy by saying that you asked for it.
