Hyderabad: Aberaam Varma, who won Mr Andhra Pradesh, 2013, is all set to mark his Tollywood debut with Teja’s upcoming movie, Hora Hori.

“I was always passionate about movies right from my school days. The passion inside me just grew more as I entered college. I did a few shows as a model and attended few auditions. I also got a role in a movie but couldn’t go ahead with it as my parents were not okay.”

Aberaam then moved to the US to pursue his MBA. But the passion for acting did not die. “I had to go to the US for my MBA but I didn’t deter away from my acting goal. I pursued theatre as well, but for part time. I also gave a few auditions, got selected for SOAP directed by Praheme da Prophet, which was sent to several film festivals.”

After finishing his MBA, Aberaam was back to India to pursue his passion, acting. “I came back to India in 2012, joined FTIAP (Devadas Kanakala Film Institute), which helped me a lot to get my Telugu diction right. I started modelling, after which I was also awarded the Mr Andhra Pradesh 2013 title.”

Talking about how Hora Hori happened, he says, “I saw an advertisement that director Teja was looking for new talent. I immediately sent my photos. I got a call from his office. After going through 5-7 rounds of auditions, over a period of time, I was selected for the role.

He adds, “I play the role of a bad cop in the film. I felt that a movie with a director like Teja sir, who introduced many young talent, would be a perfect launch pad for my film career.”
