He hit a ‘sixer’ with his debut, and went onto score many more which earned him great recognition. However despite facing several ups and downs Prajwal Devaraj is still one of the busiest actors in the industry who has carved a niche for himself. While the Dynamic Prince admits to few mistakes in the past which led to his recent failures, he admits that he has now learnt his lessons and is committed to work with experienced professionals with a real passion for films.

Prajwal who turned a year older last week, is all excited about Arjuna, a lifetime experience in which he gets to act alongside his father Dynamic Star Devaraj. “It has always been a dream to work alongside with my father in a movie. Ever since I saw Sarkar which starred Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan, I wished to do a film of such calibre with my father.

Arjuna is special not only because I am acting alongside my star father but the movie directed by P C Sekar, has come out brilliantly. It is not a regular father-son film. We both play opposite roles in an intense murder thriller,” says Prajwal, who has recently been recognised as a certified Zumba trainer.

Getting back to Arjuna, he says he plays a murder suspect and his father plays the role of a cop. “The director Sekar is a wonderful technician. He looks into minute details (including my bearded look)  and my father who is known for his cop roles. In fact, my father recently said that Arjuna brought back a spark in his acting. Until now, he has been only acting in multi starrer films in supporting roles,” he adds.

Apart from him, his entire family is eagerly awaiting the release of Arjuna, he says adding that he and his father had to keep his mother away from watching the shoot of a particular scene in the film. “My mother who is really excited about the film, had been to the shooting of Arjuna a few times. When once she wanted to visit us while we were shooting for a scene in which my father drags me on the road while he is in the car, we ensured she was not there,” he laughs, sharing that even his father was skeptical about the shot as he felt it would make him emotional.

Prajwal is presently shooting for Bhujanga, in which he plays a mass oriented role. He reveals that he will have a lengthier beard than the one in Arjuna! Thereafter he will star in Mano Murthy’s film directed by Satish Pradhan. His  Dil Ka Raja in which he stars opposite Ramya is expected to release this year too.

Despite several promising ventures last years none of his films did well, and he confesses, “I was a newcomer at the time of Sixer, and my desire to support new talent has really hurt me. I could see great passion when they approached me but when the real test comes at the time of the shoot, they would want to make money and not work hard. Most of the time, the story I heard would change drastically by the time the film was shot. I have now learnt my lessons, so its time to be a bit selfish and work with only experienced producers.”

Good luck to the star!
