London: Breaking all the constrained mindsets about modelling, Lorde Inc has become one of its kind agency that is made up entirely of models of colour and has no white models.
Set up in May 2014 by a 26-year-old Canadian art history graduate, Nafisa Kaptownwala, the company has worked with magazines including Dazed and Confused and i-D and collaborated with London street wear brand Cassette Playa, reported the Guardian.
Kaptownwala said that there wasn't any massive demand because this was still a radical idea and people in fashion weren't really ready for it.
Talking about the dominance of white faces in the industry, she added that they work with everyone and they were fulfilling a niche.
However, Kaptownwala added she believes the internet and the culture of selfies has a role to play in broadening what people think beautiful was and has made an entire generation comfortable in front of the camera.
