Imman Annachi is one of the few television hosts who has carved a niche for himself — thanks to his unique style of anchoring shows and great attitude. The anchor who rose to fame with Solluganne Sollunga (SS) is happy over the positive response he has received for this show and the popularity he gained from all sections of audience with his other show Kutty Chutties (KC). SS and KC have completed 200 and 140 episodes respectively on Sun TV.
Imman says he feels gratified that his fun-filled interaction with children in KC and that it has reached every nook and corner of the state. He says, “It all started with the makers of Kutty Chutties approaching me saying that they had plans to introduce a programme on the lines of a popular children show hosted by American stand-up comedian Bill Cosby. However, I was busy with few films then and couldn’t commit immediately. But they requested me to don the greasepaint at least for its promo; for which I gave the nod. Later, they were impressed with it and convinced me to host the entire show.”
Imman considers the fame he received from the show equivalent to the recognition received by doing 50 films, and he tells that the TRP of the show sky-rocketed gradually due to its exceptionally good feedback. Hav-ing said that, the humble artiste says he’s often clueless as to how he has been able to strike a chord with children. “I always wonder how do kids manage to open up to me. It’s a kind of magic – my histrionics and dialect do the trick I guess. I’m happy that the show has gone down well with people of all age groups.”
