Trying to bring back the Shine Tom Chacko

Shine Tom Chacko has made his first silver screen appearance after his controversial arrest for allegedly possessing narcotics, with Jayaraj Vijay’s recent release, Viswasam Athalle Ellam.

The actor, who is currently shooting for his next film, Sibi Malayil’s Saigal Padukayanu, calls the past few months “a time of the most wonderful experiences of my life” sarcastically and chooses to leave the painful memories in the past with that.

However, Shine makes a point to thank directors Jayaraj Vijay and Sibi Malayil for having the faith to put the projects on hold even when he was in police custody with no definite date set for bail.

“I am very thankful for the trust they had and to everyone at the sets for making the experience during the shoot feel normal, as always. The only regret I have is that these two films had to be put on hold and the shoot got delayed because of me. But Viswasam Athalle Ellam has released this Friday and there are just four days of shoot left for Saigal Padukayanu,” says Shine.

Many other directors of projects Shine had signed, like Muhsin Perari of KL 10 Pathu had chosen to resume the shoots with a replacement as they were concerned about the shooting schedules.

Shine was at the peak of his career, thanks to his performance in Binu’s directorial debut Ithihasa which became a cult hit, when he was arrested. Has it affected his career? “No,” says the actor.

“After I finish Saigal Padukayanu, I will be starting my next project immediately after Onam. I have projects lined up until the end of December and I’m happy that everything is back on track,” he adds.

Viswasam Athalle Ellam features Shine as a youngster who refuses to get a job as he does not want to work under anyone and starts his own business venture in the hope of making lots of profits, only to find out that the picture is not so rosy. In Saigal Padukayanu, on the other hand, he will portray the role of an auto driver Chandrababu, who is also a prominent singer on the stages of Kozhikode.
