Music director Leon James of the Bobby Simha-starrer Ko 2 has revealed that the team will be releasing a single — Unnai Maatrinaal, the title track from the film, on the occasion of Independence Day.
Sung by Harish Sivaramakrishnan of the music band ‘Agam’, and penned by award-winning lyricist Na Muthukumar, Leon says that the motivational song will be a tribute to the former president of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
“The song runs for around four-and-half minutes. We are conveying a powerful message through this song — one need not do big sacrifices to be great, but take care of himself and their family first. Also, if you want to change the world, you need to change yourself first,” Leon tells DC and adds how challenging it was for him to compose the number. “The movie is a political thriller and from the movie’s point of view, we have stuffed the message of ‘do good and be good’ in this song.”
The young musician adds that he is confident about the success of the song, though he isn’t sure whether the song would be in the film as it is getting released as a single. Leo who had worked with AR Rahman and Santhosh Narayanan was spotted after his single Vaaya Yen Veera released on YouTube.
