Sonu Nigam likens Radhe Maa to Kali
Comparison with Goddess Kali did not go down well with many Twitteratis
Mumbai: Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam was embroiled in a controversy after he tweeted in support of Radhe maa, the self-styled godwoman who has recently been involved in an alleged dowry case.
Finding nothing wrong in the pictures of the godwoman that went viral, Sonu, known to be quite a religious person, tweeted, “Just my 2 pence. Kaali Maa is depicted in lesser clothes than Radhey Maa. Interesting that this country wants to sue a woman for her clothes.”
“Men Saadhus can walk naked. Dance embarrassingly, but it takes a rape charge to put them behind bars. So much for gender equality?” his tweets read
Though Radhe Ma has a huge fan following, the comparison with Goddess Kali did not go down well with many Twitteratis and comments slamming the singer started pouring in.
“You Comparing Kaali Maa with a fraud! Hahaha... Thanks for letting your fans know how dumb you are....,” says a comment.
However, Sonu doesn’t hide her devotion to Radhe Maa and claiming himself as a follower of Radhe Maa, he tweets, “Wanna sue, sue the followers... Sue YOURSELVES.. For making them God men and women. Setting different rules for men and women, not fair.” (sic)
