Watch: How to skin a watermelon

Cutting fruits can be an art in its own right, especially when preparing fruit salads for outdoor picnics and summer parties. In this video, YouTuber Mark Rober shows a cool watermelon trick that you can use to fool and impress your friends and family.

Rober first begins by cutting out the green skin of the watermelon and then uses a new scrubbing pad like a sandpaper to give the fruit a smooth finish. He then takes a watermelon of a similar size and cuts it into half.

After carving out the fruit from the second watermelon, he simply slides the first watermelon into the skin of the second. We think it’s a pretty cool hack to show everyone who’s the boss at your family’s next summer barbeque get-together.
