'Jagga Jasoos' shot in 2013 to be re-shot, here's why
The film's release has now been delayed further!
Mumbai: Anurag Basu, has been working hard to complete the schedule of his highly-anticipated musical ‘Jagga Jasoos’. But it looks like the director will need some more time to complete, what now seems to be the longest film of his career.
Anurag initially started shooting the film with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in 2013. The team sought out exotic locations including Bangkok and South Africa, to shoot for the musical. However due to a lot of technical snags and other unanticipated problems, the release of this film has been severely delayed.
According to a report by Box Office India, the director is unhappy with how the film is coming together, and will be re-shooting some portions of it, thus delaying its release even further.
Anurag started shooting for the film with Ranbir during the end of 2013, the actor is now working on ‘Tamasha’ and will soon begun shooting for Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, which he is expected to complete in three months.
Ranbir will only have available dates in January 2016, which is when Anurag plans on re-shooting the earlier portions of the film. As it would be a tough task, because Ranbir will be sporting different looks in his upcoming films, Anurag decided to shoot the earlier portions again to ensure continuity in the film.
But that’s not all, the film’s music which is a very crucial part, isn’t ready as yet. Music director Pritam reportedly wants to take his time to carefully craft each song according to the mood of the scene. Which means the director will require more time for the film’s release till the music and editing is complete.
The film was initially expected to hit theatres on May 29 2015, and has now been postponed to more than a year ahead.
