Talking about his upcoming film Subramanyam For Sale directed by Harish Shankar, Sai Dharam Tej says, “The character is based on Indian students who want to study MS in the US and the problems they face. I play Subramanyam who works hard for money.”

He adds that Regina Cassandra’s character Seetha arrives in the US and falls in love with him. The film is releasing on September 24.

Talking about shooting in the US, Sai adds, “The US tour was memorable for me. This was the first time that I acted with Nagababu mamayya and though we see each other at home every day, when it comes to being in front of the camera, it’s completely different. For the first couple of days, I was nervous but Nagababu garu helped me get over it.”

The actor adds that compared to his earlier two films, his fans will see a lot of difference in him in this film. “Director Harish designed it as a mass character and at the same time very emotional too. This is the second time I have acted with Regina and I am quite free with her. She is a good friend and I discuss scenes with her. Though I am embarrassed doing intimate scenes, because I know Regina, I am free with her. There are a few romantic scenes with her in this film.”

Talking about Chiranjeevi’s hit song Guvva Gorinka being used in Subramanyam For Sale, Sai says, “Harish and producer Dil Raju took the decision. They were looking for a melodic song and they chose this one from the many hits of mamayya.”

He adds that when they decided to insert the song, they knew that everyone would compare them with Chiranjeevi. “Chiranjeevi mamayya is the ultimate in dance. We didn’t want to spoil his image and took utmost care while choreographing this special song,” says Sai.

“Regina and I would rehearse till 2 am and then travel for one and a half hours to the sets early in the morning. It was a hectic job and needed hard work, but we did it for our film,” he says.

Sai, who has recently bought a Harley Davidson, is dying to go on a long ride. “I always wanted to buy a bike when I earned some money. Now I want to go on a long ride. I am planning to go to Srisailam on my bike. I am currently busy with back-to-back films and hectic schedules,” he says.

And the first thing Chiranjeevi asked when he heard about the bike was “Did you buy a helmet?” “He is very affectionate and takes care of everyone,” he adds.

In the coming weeks, many of his cousins’ films are releasing and Sai says that he never feels the competition. “I don’t think that there is competition. Sometimes, two to three films release on the same day and all of them run. I hope all our films do well.”

About his upcoming projects, he says he has signed three films and one of them is already in the shooting stage. The other two will start soon.
