It’s become a lot easier to frighten small children, thanks to a new Snapchat filter, which makes their faces look like monsters. A 46-second clip, that has captured kids’ reactions as they look terrified and often burst into tears because of the filter, has been shared on Facebook nearly 250,000 times.

From making toddlers’ faces resemble a moustached purple-faced creature, an eyeless monster with fanged teeth or a black and white ghost-like being with hideous long teeth and scaly skin, this filter app successfully manages to freak out nearly all the children featured in the video with most of their parents heard laughing in the background.

While most people have found the children’s reactions hilarious, there have also been others that are not so kicked about the idea of finding anything humorous about babies crying.
