Alia Bhatt would love to get married in Greece
Alia Bhatt spills the beans on how she wants to get married one day
Ahead of the release of Shaandaar, Alia Bhat is sitting pretty in a position that not many can boast — of never having a film flop.
She has also matured since her Student of the Year days. “My IQ is much improved now,” she smiles, the Koffee With Karan episode being relegated to history. “My advice to young people is that this is the time to work hard and make your career… They should be able to support their family rather depending on them.”
She adds, “We have a farmhouse and I paid for the swimming pool there with my earnings. My parents felt great about it but I felt nicer.
Another thing she feels really good about, is how supportive her family is of her.
Family is all important
“For me my family support, especially my mom’s support is of utmost importance. My mum gives me kaju milk at night so that I sleep well. I remember while promotions’ just yesterday, I was so stressed that I sent a message to my sister stating that please do not ask any questions when I reach home as I need to relax. No sooner did I reach home, I got a big hug from my sister and mom and I was left alone. Belonging to an industry family, they understand me well.”
“Usually people get carried away with the glitz and glamour but they do not realise how much hard work we have to put in on a daily basis. It’s not only about looking nice and dressing up, but making it to the silver screen is always a stress every actors has to deal with that. Family support is very important to me.”
About her being like her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, she says, “He feels very happy to see my aggression and passion towards my profession. I have inherited all this from him. I do not just act and finish it off, I get involved in PR and marketing stuff too. I am keen to know everything.”
Fairytale weddings
Taking a leaf from Shaandaar’s storyline, she says she has her own wedding plans. “I will definitely have a destination wedding... with a few guests. I would love to choose Greece. I have not visited Greece, but it is really very beautiful. I shall handle the arrangements myself. I would love to see the bridegroom coming on a galloping horse to fetch me. I have always dreamt of a fairytale wedding for myself, and Shaandaar has a fairy tale story to tell.”
Alia adds that she is now ready for a vacation and is looking for a travelling companion as she does not have a boyfriend. “I will be going to New York, I am longing to go there. I am looking for a companion… I swear all those rumours are false… I am really single,” she concludes.
