Flowers are the most special gifts that have not just stood the test of time, but also have the appeal to melt even the most cold-hearted woman. Flowers are a symbol of life and beauty and thus, when received, women don’t just feel vibrant they also feel beautiful and incredibly special. Uncomplicated and economic, flowers are indeed a way to a woman’s heart, suitable for every occasion and emotion. So, here are a few tips on how and when to shower her with flowers.

What’s the occasion?
While flowers indeed go a long way when it comes to apologies and special occasions like Valentine’s Day and anniversaries, the best time to give her flowers is when there’s no occasion at all. When you buy her flowers just because you want her to know that you love her and think of her all the time, she will feel more special and appreciated like never before. The element of surprise will also add to her pleasant revelation.

There are other occasions that may call for flowers that aren’t quite as set in stone, though. Say you want to congratulate her on receiving a promotion at work, for instance. Flowers can help you do that!

What kind of flowers?
Roses never go out of fashion. Red means ‘I love you’; white means ‘Let’s just be friends’; pink is somewhere in between red and white. Although giving her roses is a sweet gesture, it’s a bit obvious. Florist Karthik Kumar says, “If you really want to impress your girl, give her something unique: lilies with fern leaves, a mixed bouquet or wild flowers. Notice what she likes. If she looks at them and puts them in the window, get her big bright colourful flowers. If the first thing she does is stick her nose in them, get her flowers that have good fragrance.”

Lilac — ‘Do You Still Love Me?’; Honeysuckle — The Bond of Love;  Ambrosia — Your Love is reciprocated; Camellia, red: You’re a flame in my heart; Camellia, white — You’re adorable; Forget-me-not — Faithful Love, Memories; Hyacinth, purple — I am sorry, Please forgive me, Sorrow and so on.
