Born and brought up in Hyderabad, but currently a US citizen, artist Nipun Kumar has stuck to his roots through his art. “I work in acrylics and mixed media on canvas as an abstract expressionist.

I incorporate visual, emotional and psychological impressions of urban tension, raw emotions and harsh realities tempered with gentle optimism and beauty,” says Nipun. And Nipun is excited about the Miami fair.

“Every December, thousands of art collectors, gallery owners, dealers, curators, artists and art lovers flock in to Miami. These programmes provide a dynamic experience for attendees, allowing them to view the works and interact with leading international artists.”

Talking about the difference between the art communities in India and the US, he says, “The major difference is the global connection that brings more exposure and recognition. Art has no boundaries or politics.” Nipun comes to India every three years and has art shows lined up in UK, France, Dubai etc., and is also planning shows in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and of course, his hometown, Hyderabad.
