Women can be either bisexual or gay but never straight, study claims
The researchers found that straight women were strongly aroused by both sexes
If scientists are to be believed then no woman is simply heterosexual. A recent study found that women participants who classed themselves as heterosexual were aroused by naked videos of both attractive men and women; on the other hand lesbians were seen to be far more attracted to the female form.
The study, which was carried out by experts from the University of Essex, involved 345 women participants. After clips of naked people were played to the women, their responses including whether their pupils dilated when showing sexual stimuli were recorded. The researchers found that straight women were strongly aroused by both sexes, whereas lesbians showed far stronger responses to women and barely any when shown the men.
Dr Gerulf Rieger from the Department of Psychology, who also led the project, added that their research also showed that lesbians who may dress in a more masculine style may not have more masculine behaviour, according to a report published in the Daily Mail.
