Revisit Nizami history

Falaknuma Palace is finally opening the doors of its famed Coronation Hall

Update: 2015-11-12 23:22 GMT
The Hall also houses a new outlet called The Grills which will be operational from November 13, over the weekends.
Coinciding with Falaknuma Palace’s fifth anniversary celebration is a historic spectacle that one certainly wouldn’t want to miss — the Coronation Hall will be opened to the public for the first time.

After going through the main palace, as one steps outside, one comes across a beautiful  structure called Coronation Hall. In 1903, when the Delhi Durbar was organised to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra as Emperor and Empress of India, Mir Mahboob Ali Pasha, the 6th Nizam was also invited to grace the occasion.

Royalty from all of India had displayed the intricate workmanship of the art work of their region in the form of tents. The Nizam was very impressed by the most beautiful furniture displayed for sale.

As there was none who could afford to buy these delightful  articles the Nizam bought a whole lot of them and housed the collection brought from Delhi in the most appropriate way by constructing a very beautiful edifice and called it the Coronation Hall. It was opened in 1907.

The Nizam was greatly inspired by these beautiful artwork and presented them in a sequence viz. Mughal, Buddhist and Hindu.
