‘Sea organ’ in Croatia transforms waves into music
In 2006, the Sea Organ even won the European Prize for Urban Public Space
Ever heard of a musical instrument that can be played by Mother Nature herself? The ‘Sea Organ’ in Zadar, Croatia is one such nature-based instrument – it can actually produce sweet music with the sea waves hitting up the shores, according to Country Living.
The special musical organ, which is designed by Croatian architect Nikola Basic, makes use of 35 organ pipes and sits along 230 feet of the Adriatic Sea coastline. With narrow channels connecting the pipes, the sea water pushes air through them and that creates a mesmerising whistling sound.
Obviously, the spot is a big hit among tourists and local alike who want to listen to some tranquil music by the beach.
