Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput has opted out of Mohit Suri’s next directorial 'Half Girlfriend', a screen adaptation of a Chetan Bhagat novel. This comes as a surprise as the actor had already perfected his Bihari accent, read the book and even readied himself for the role when he had auditioned for the part. Mohit had admitted that he was brilliant and he added his own dimensions to the character.
According to reports, the reason cited for this decision was date issues. Apparently, the team wanted the same dates as that of Dinesh Vijan’s untilted film. Since Sushant had committed for the film a long ago, he decided to pull out of Mohit’s project.
Recently, when Kriti was asked about the film, she said, "I don't think I can talk about that. I have met Mohit and it's a script that I really liked. I have also launched the book and I have read it a year ago but there are other things that need to be figured out. There is nothing locked right now so I feel it's not right for me to talk about it."
Dinesh’s film earlier starrer Sushant and Alia Bhatt but the actress opted for ‘Shuddhi’ over this one. However, soon Kriti Sanon was roped in for the lead role. The shoot commences early next year and is believed to be a high-voltage and hilarious tale of love, dreams and destiny.
