She rocked the Rock & Instagram

Sumitra Naidu, a 27-year-old PIO, who lives in Malaysia, didn’t expect that she would go from 200 followers to a whopping 4,959 followers on Instagram within a matter of hours.

Well, that’s what happens when when Dwayne ‘Rock’ Johnson reposts your ‘quan challenge’ video. The Quan challenge video is one of the latest hip-hop dance challenges made popular by the artist iHeart Memphis.

The Rock took up the challenge and posted a video of his post workout session. And Sumitra too followed suit. “Every week I create 15 seconds videos on Instagram. A friend had sent me this video of the Rock hitting the Quan and I thought, ‘Hey, this looks easy enough’ so I just covered him,” says Sumitra. The dancer works at her dad’s office and also works as a videographer.

“I had hoped The Rock would like the video, but I was not prepared for a re-post. And now, my phone has been buzzing off the hook. On a side note, I have also gotten a lot of insta-proposals from men (and women) for marriage,” she said with a laugh.
