A drowning donkey felt so relieved that after all the struggle he has been through during the floods, he was finally rescued and reached the dry land. His happiness was evident when he gave a wide grin to the rescue worker.

Animal Heaven Animal Rescue in Kerry, Ireland saved him after they received a call from the owner worried about his donkey stuck in floodwater due to bad weather conditions on Monday.

The centre posted this SOS on its Facebook page during lunchtime: ‘Code red. Today’s emergency. Please help me. There is a donkey stranded in deep flooding in Kilorglin. I need a boat and men to help. I have ropes etc. Please get me help.’

Even though the rescue team had limited equipments and the weather was bad, they still managed to tow the stranded donkey to safety, according to Mirror.UK.

The donkey was then named as Mike and is currently recovering in a warm stable.
