On the weekend, the Hyderabad Runners will gather around as usual for their training run, but with one difference — this Sunday, they will be running for Chennai. While the Chennai Marathon that was supposed to be held this Sunday has been cancelled, the Hyderabad Runners are organising a charity run. Talking about it, Rajesh Vetcha of Hyderabad Runners says, “We organise runs every Sunday but this Sunday, we are opening it for people to join and then donate for the Chennai flood victims.

There is no registration fee and there are no specific targets for the run. The trainers usually run from 10K to 32K, so participants can join for the same and can run for the distance they want to.”

Meanwhile, the Chennai Runners, for whom the Hyderabad Runners have been mentors in the past, will be organising a clean-up drive, keeping in mind the amount of sewage and garbage that has piled up on the roads of Chennai.
