Gervais hits out at Mel Gibson

The Golden Globe Awards, which will be held in Los Angeles, California this Sunday, announced that actor and director Mel Gibson would be presenting an award at the ceremony and the revelation was met with harsh criticism from audiences online.

 

Known for his anti-Semitic and sexist comments, Mel was criticised even by comedian Ricky Gervais, who tweeted, “Mel Gibson is presenting an award at The Golden Globes. Thank you Jesus,” a jibe at Mel’s comments.

 

Others responded with tweets like, “Mel Gibson? What are you, desperate?” and “Mel f*****g Gibson? You guys must be out of your minds.”
