VIJAYAWADA: Lalithaa Jewellery chairman and MD Dr M. Kiran Kumar announced the launch of the chain’s 50th landmark showroom, which will be inaugurated on June 24 in Nellore.

Addressing the media in Vijayawada on Thursday, Kiran Kumar said his “10-year dream of opening the 50th showroom in Nellore” would be fulfilled. He said two more showrooms, in Sullurpet and Gudur, will be opened on the same day.

He said that quality, designs and price were the reasons for the brand’s popularity.

Kiran Kumar said that he started his career as a worker in Nellore and later turned into a businessman. He said that Lalithaa Jewellery had been a renowned and trusted name in the South Indian jewellery retail industry for over three decades. He also shared plans to expand Lalithaa to all southern states, including Kerala, and increase showrooms to 150.

Kumar said knew “the value of every penny as money will not come free.” He dismissed any plan to enter politics or the cine field.

He said, “I may head a successful jewellery company today, but I am not different from you. The day I sold my mother's bangles to start a business seems like yesterday. The financially tough times I faced as a kid taught me the value of every penny.”

Kiran Kumar said, “From just a few showrooms about 10 years back, Lalithaa Jewellery has grown to become a 50-showroom chain in record time, with a turnover of ₹18,000 crores. Lalithaa plans to widen its presence at the same pace and aims to become a ₹50,000-crore company and a 100-showroom network by 2026.”

He said Lalithaa Jewellery planned to open showrooms at Amalapuram, Kurnool, Tuni, Kadapa, Miryalaguda and Khammam in AP and Telangana, and Vellore and Rajapalayam in TN this year.
