Ayesha, the wife of Telugu choreographer Shaik Jani Basha—commonly known as Jani Master—has spoken out about the sexual abuse allegations leveled against her husband. In a recent interview with TV9, she vehemently denied the claims and insisted that her husband has never assaulted any woman throughout his career. Ayesha also stated that she would reconsider her marriage if concrete evidence were provided against Jani Master.
Ayesha questioned the timing of the allegations, highlighting that the complaint was lodged six years after the alleged incidents. She remarked, "The accusation that the woman was harassed at the age of 16 is false and deeply troubling. If she can provide proof, I will leave Master."
In her interview, Ayesha emphasized her long-standing relationship with Jani Master, stating, "We have been married for 14 years and have no children. I know him well, and the nature described in the allegations is not his."
She also raised concerns about the complainant's past statements, noting that the woman had previously expressed gratitude toward Jani Master for advancing her career. "The complainant has publicly thanked Master for building her career. If she truly felt abused, why did she not come forward earlier? Why did she wait until now to file this complaint?" Ayesha questioned.
Jani Master, a National Award-winning choreographer, was arrested by the Cyberabad Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Goa on September 19. He has since been transported to Hyderabad. The complainant, now 21, has accused Jani Master of multiple assaults over six years during various shoots. The police have added charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act to the FIR, as the alleged abuse began when the woman was a minor. She has also been given police protection following her detailed 40-page account of the alleged abuse.
As of now, Jani Master has not issued any official statement regarding the ongoing investigation.
