After the success of ‘Jailer’ and ‘Leo’, another Tamil movie ‘Amaran’ has received good response in two Telugu states and it has managed Rs 2 crores box office collections. “It has a slow start but it will eventually pick up riding on word-of-mouth publicity," says a distributor.

The Telugu dubbing rights of the much-hyped Tamil film ‘Amaran’ featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi has been reportedly sold for Rs 5 crore in Telugu states. “Siva Karthikeyan’s splendid performance in a role inspired by a real-life martyr is the USP of the film, while Sai Pallavi comes with another good performance,’ he adds. The story depicts the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan who leads his team against Pakistani terrorists threatening peace in Kashmir.
However, he lost his life during a counter-terrorism operation in the Shopian district, he adds. “Soon number of theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are going to be increased, depending upon the demand by distributors and it has potential to collect ore this weekend,” he concludes.
Earlier, Tamil stars like Rajnikanth, Vijay and Dhanush delivered hits in Telugu states. Now it is probably the turn of Siva Karthikeyan to draw more footfalls from Telugu viewers.
