New-age Telugu actor Teja Sajja who is basking in the success of ‘HanuMan’ had a special moment at the ongoing International Film Festival of India where he was felicitated for his work in ‘HanuMan’.

‘It was a proud moment in my life,’ says Teja Sajja to Deccan Chronicle. The child artist-turned-actor was happy that Telugu cinema is finding its right place now and big films like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ are also being screened and appreciated by global audiences.

“Our film ‘HanuMan’ was screened twice for the global audience and the response from delegates from all over the world has been overwhelming for our socio-fantasy film which hails the power of mighty Lord Hanuman,” he adds.

Teja made his debut as a child artist at the age of two in Megastar Chiranjeevi's ‘Choodalani Vundi’ and acted in about fifty other films alongside leading actors from the industry. Although he was launched as a hero with ‘Oh Baby’ his underdog-turned-superhero film ‘HanuMan’ was his biggest blockbuster and launched him as a bankable hero.

“HanuMan's massive success has become more of a burden and responsibility for me since Telugu films are being watched all over. If we make a good film with a refreshing story and with some values, the audience is there to patronize it. I have to choose the right kind of movies from now,” he informs. He also reserved special praise for director Prashanth Varma for his imagination and directorial skills. On 'Jai Hanuman,' he says “Rishab Shetty is playing Lord Hanuman and other things are being worked out," he quips.
About Telugu stars Prabhas and Balakrishna references being made in 'HanuMan', despite being a pan-India film, “We were primarily catering to Telugu audiences world over. We knew that our socio-fantasy would be released in Hindi too, yet we just focused on the Telugu audience. We are glad that more non-Telugu viewers love our films and it additional bonus and we intend to explore it,’ he explains and adds, “Even my next film ‘Mirai’ is a unique action adventure and it would be another path-breaking effort,” he concludes.
