Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood lessons
The proud father Sanjay Kapoor is more than happy to see his little one taking the plunge.
As the new star kid on the block, Shanaya Kapoor — daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor — is already making a wave on her social media platform. The pretty face wants to become an actor, but currently, she has taken up a new job as the assistant director for her cousin Jahnvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena biopic.
The proud father Sanjay Kapoor is more than happy to see his little one taking the plunge.
Talking about it, he says, “When your children start working, you are very proud and happy. This is the line she always wanted to be and she is chasing her dreams. This is the best experience she can have which is better than all the classes.”
The actor is delighted that the requirements of the job are taking her out of her comfort zone that she has been managing well. “Real experience is always the best experience. She is assisting and there are good actors on sets and it is a big production so she is learning the ropes the hard way. Shanaya is in Lucknow right now it is 41 degrees there. She is enjoying that and is sharing her room with another co-assistant, so she is seeing the real world and I am happy,” he added.
The Lust Stories actor further reveals Shanaya eventually wants to be an actor. “She will get into acting soon and this is only for experience. She is just gaining some experience about the film industry and about the people. When you see them closely while performing, that’s the best experience one can have,” he reveals.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Kapoor, whose fate changed post the success of Lust Stories, is on a roll. The actor will now be seen in The Zoya Factor, Mission Mangal and also in a web series.
“I was busy with production, and whatever was coming my way was not interesting, but I was fortunate to get something like Lust Stories. It was highly appreciated for the way it was shot. Everybody’s eyes opened up which is why things have changed for me,” said the 53-year-old actor.
Sanjay further added, “I keep joking that two and a half hour feature film couldn’t do what a short film did for me. But the fact is that in every 10 to 15 years, the whole pattern of acting changes. It’s become more real. It is suiting my personality mor now.”
