Nawazuddin Siddiqui to shake a leg alongside Tiger Shroff in Munna Michael
The actor will be seen portraying a grey character in the upcoming romantic-musical.
Mumbai: Dancing isn’t something you’d associate with Nawazuddin Siddiqui but he also isn’t someone who’d run away from challenges. The ‘Maanjhi’ star will soon be seen shaking a leg on-screen with Tiger Shroff in Sabbir Khan’s ‘Munna Michael’.
'Munna Michael', a romantic-musical, will have Tiger Shroff playing the eponymous street boy who grows up idolising pop legend Michael Jackson.
“Nawazuddin is an amazing actor, who should be challenged with something interesting every time,” Sabbir Khan was quoted as saying.
“You will see him (Nawazuddin) dance in the film. No one has seen him dance before. He is a phenomenal actor and that is why you need to challenge him and give him a role which is interesting,” said Sabbir.
The ‘Heropanti’ director also divulged that Nawaz will soon be attending workshops to train in dancing. The actor has previously been seen performing to the cult 'Emosanal Atyachaar' from Anurag Kashyap's landmark movie, 'DevD'.
The filmmaker said the ‘Kahaani’ actor won’t be seen playing an unabashedly negative character in the movie. “It is not a negative role. It has got shades of white, black, grey and everything. All I can say right now is that it is a very layered character which he will be playing”, he added.
‘Munna Michael’, Sabbir Khan and Tiger Shroff’s third collaboration after ‘Heropanti’ and ‘Baaghi’, will commence shoot in September. The team is currently working on Nawazuddin’s look in the film.
“I am a huge fan of his. It is a very important part, it is a challenging role. I saw him in the role and offered him the part. I am excited to work with him and he is even more excited. He absolutely loved the part”, Sabbir said.
Sabbir, however, is yet to zero down on the leading lady as they are looking to launch a new face with the movie.
