Deepika Padukone reveals why her 'unibrow' was important for Padmavati look
The actress gushes about the film, as she talks about her female-centric role.
Deepika Padukone is in the news for all the right reasons these days. While the trailer of her film Padmavati has already garnered some positive reviews, she also has made headlines for being paid more than her co-stars in Padmavati.
However, during the 3D version trailer launch of Padmavati, she answered this question with utmost pride. “Talking about my remuneration isn’t exciting. But I am proud and confident about the money I get. What makes me happy is that they (producers) have invested so much money in a film, which has a poster featuring me on it. That makes me proud,” Deepika said.
The actress gushes about the film, as she talks about her female-centric role. She added, “In terms of scale, budget and resources, its a huge film. We have seen strong female parts on-screen in different films in different ways. I think Padmavati is the beginning of great things women have in films.”
The makers are going a bit slow with the promotions considering the ongoing controversies surrounding the film. The actress reveals that they do not intent to go on a marketing blitzkrieg with the film either. “At this point, we are happy with the reactions to the film. We are taking things one at a time — less is more.”
Her unibrow look got thumbs up from her fans. Talking about the decision to stick to the look, she said, “Women have been conditioned to think of beauty in a certain way. I am glad we changed it with my look. It takes immense amount of belief, not just for me but for my director as well, to take that risk.”
