Exclusive: It's Diana Penty for Lucknow Central
Kriti Sanon and Saiyami Kher were first considered for the role.
Nikkhil Advani’s Lucknow Central doesn’t seem to be having the proverbial lady luck. Directed by debutant filmmaker Ranjit Tiwari it has had three women in the running to play the lead role. Kriti Sanon was first roped in to play the heroine opposite Farhan Akhtar. While those close to Kriti cited date issues, according to sources from the production house, the filmmakers found her ‘too glamorous’ for the role of an NGO worker. Saiyami Kher was then brought on board. From what we hear now, Diana Penty who was last seen in Happy Bhaag Jayegi is the latest choice for the role. Reason?
A source reveals, “After the makers roped in Saiyami, they felt that she isn’t best suited for the role either. Hence, they replaced her with Diana Penty.”
We tried contacting Diana but she remained unavailable for comment. As did producer Nikkhil Advani, who didn’t return our calls.
