Sadhguru praises Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Mere Pyare Prime Minister'
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra hosted a special screening of his upcoming film for spiritual leader Sadhguru in Coimbatore.
Mumbai: National award-winning director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra hosted a special screening for spiritual leader Sadhguru in Coimbatore. After the special screening, Yogi Sadhguru gave a big shout-out to the film which focuses on the issue of open defecation and sanitation problems in the country.
Over 1000 people watched the film during the screening, of which, women were deeply touched and overwhelmed after the film ended.
The most gratifying response was by the spiritual leader himself as he went numb and could not speak a word as he hugged director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, refusing to let him go after the screening.
The most unique response witnessed was of spiritual leader Sadhguru as he couldn't speak a word after watching the film and he did not let go director Rakeysh Omprakash Mishra and hugged him for making such a great film.
Expressing his feelings about the film, Sadhguru took to the social media saying, "Time to address basic issues that truly decide the quality & safety of all citizens. Touching upon two socially relevant and impactful issues of open defecation and rape, Mere Pyare Prime Minister presents the story of a young boy and his mother.
The bond between a son and mother forming the crux of the story, the film traces the journey of Kanhu as he struggles to reach the Prime Minister as his mother met an ugly incident due to unavailability of toilets.
Delivering a social message with an emotional storyline yet again, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra who has earlier helmed Rang De Basanti, Delhi-6, amongst others is all set to present Mere Pyare Prime Minister.
The film starring National award-winning actress Anjali Patil, Makarand Deshpande, Rasika Agashe, Sonia Albizuri and Nachiket Purnapatre brings together power-packed performances. The musical trio of Shankar Ehsan Loy joins hands for the music to the lyrics penned by Gulzar.
Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen) and PVR Cinemas present, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's directorial Mere Pyare Prime Minister is all set to release on 15th March 2019.
