Mumbai:  Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently gearing up for his upcoming film Thackeray where he will be seen playing the lead role of the Indian politician, Bal Thackeray. The film is a biography on the life of the founder of Indian political party, 'Shiv Sena'.

Famously called versatility king, Nawaz got into the skin of his character to prepare for his role. He left no stone unturned to flawlessly portray Balasaheb Thackeray on screen.

As per sources close to the actor, Nawaz watched more than 100 videos of Bal Thackeray, beginning from his struggling days to the time to became a successful politician.

Says the source, "Nawaz made sure to learn everything about Bal Thackeray before he started shooting. From his looks to his style, to the way he speaks and addresses the masses, he made sure to watch all the videos and started practicing for it. He watched more than 100 videos to make sure he hits the right cord."

"He also locked himself in the room for hours to get his style and accent right," adds the source.

Now, we surely can believe that Nawaz did go through many hardships and his performance in the trailer so far has captivated our hearts.

Directed by Abhijit Panse, the film also stars Amrita Rao, Sudhir Mishra, Mohanlala, etc to name a few; and is all set to hit the silver screens on 25th January, 2019.
