It's difficult being a woman in India: Soha Ali Khan
As more and more people share their personal experiences, actor Soha Ali Khan calls it a welcome change.
The #MeToo movement is making headlines for all the right reasons, with seemingly-forgotten horror-stories surfacing after decades. As more and more people share their personal experiences, actor Soha Ali Khan calls it a welcome change.
“It’s wonderful that women are speaking out. Sometimes, it is difficult being a woman in a country like India. We go through a lot on a daily basis. Sometimes, we just accept that we will be harassed regularly, whether that’s on a train or in the film industry,” Soha says.
She adds, “It takes a lot of courage to stand up and tell your story, and women need to be supported when they do that. It is wonderful that the movement is being accepted. I don’t know what the consequences will be, if any. But I hope there will be some consequences. I stand in complete support of any woman who wants to tell her story.”
