Don't be pressurised but celebrate the success of Baahubali 2: Rohit Shetty
After Baahubali 2's record breaking BO performance, there seems to be a pressure on Hindi film industry
Director Rohit Shetty has no time to spare as the filmmaker has a lot of his plate. The ace director, who is extremely busy shooting his film Golmaal Again, will be flying to Spain later on to shoot his TV show Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khilladi –season 8.
“Yes, I have been very busy shooting films every day and night. But I am more than excited to go to Spain for this season as not only the contestants are great but I am proud that Geeta Phogat is also joining the show. Above all, this time we will be meeting some real and different animals as well.”
After Baahubali – The Conclusion’s record breaking Box Office performance, there seems to be a slight pressure on Hindi film industry to buckle up and put their A game face on. When asked if the film industry is indeed under pressure to work harder in order to match the level of 1000 crore set by the Tamil and Telugu bilingual film, pat comes Rohit’s reply, “No, why do we need to feel pressurised about the huge B.O flow for Baahubali – The Conclusion? In fact it is a matter of celebration since the film has brought the Indian film industry to another level.”
Giving away the important promotional technique which director S.S Rajamouli’s film, 'Baahaubali – The conclusion’ followed, Rohit said,” Look at the film. They did not go any extra mile promoting the film in the malls, the way we go promoting our films. We leave no stone unturned. We go all over the cities even promoting our films in trains etc. The BB team did not bother much about promoting their film. Yet everyone thronged into the theatres to watch the film, turning the film into a massive success. So we need to pick up a leaf or two from them. The film runs for its script and the direction. We need to place technicality too in place. If all these spheres of film making falls in place, the film has to do well.”
The tickets of ‘Baahubali – The Conclusion’ were worth Rs 700 and more. When asked if his next flick ‘Golmaal Again’ also have the same exorbitant tickets rates, the filmmaker said, “Let’s see… we have to first complete the film and then we will look into all these other facts related to our film.”
Ajay Devgn and Parineeti Chopra starrer film ‘Golmaal Again’ originally was to clash with Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ as both the films were set to release in Diwali, however, the Box Office battle was averted. For Rohit, this surely was a sigh of relief. “I must say, Rajnikanth is a big star and 2.0 is a huge film. Clash of my film with his film has been avoided ---this is indeed a good thing for us,” he smiled.
