‘Class of 80’s: this is the most famous group in the South. It’s a group that has actors from the 80s. Every year all the actors come together for a day or two and have a blast. This year the family has expanded to the North.

The reunion was in Mumbai this year. Poonam Dhillon and Jackie Shroff hosted the event at a club house. Also present were Raj Babbar, Anupam Kher, Tina Munim, Anil Kapoor...

Talking about the fun evening, actor Naresh says that it was ‘an emotional and exhilarating moment’.

“We had a blast; the child-like excitement and enthusiasm always comes out of us during such events. We had karaoke, Tambola, played songs, dance, etc. Generally we starve because of our roles and characters on screen, but in such reunions we are foodies,” comments Naresh, describing the moments as refreshing and fulfilling.

“This time the reunion is even more special because we have actors from the North too. It feels great when your filmy family keeps expanding. After Covid we haven’t met; so it’s been nearly three years since we all came together,” he says.

Apparently, this reunion idea struck them in 2009. Naresh, Suhasini and other actors were shooting in RFC in Hyderabad, when they heard the news of the tragic death of Michael Jackson in 2009. Being a celeb, Jackson’s lonely death moved all the actors. It was then Suhasini wanted to initiate something like a reunion where actors can come together, share, bond and open up their hearts.

“Since then we all have decided to stick together for a lifetime, come what may,” shares Naresh, stating that the reunion family kept expanding with time.
“This reunion is one-of-a-kind in the world; nowhere else you have such a group where actors share and bond like us,” he shares, stating that the credit goes to all the women organisers in the group who make it possible.

“We don’t talk about films. We only have fun, that makes it even more entertaining,” says Naresh who also reveals that there’s a WhatsApp group for this ‘Class of 80’s.
