Padmavati' was supposed to release in theatres on December 1st but didn't due to the Karni Sena controversy.
Mumbai: Ranveer Singh has most definitely grown as an actor from ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ to ‘Bajirao Mastani’. He was one of the reasons Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie ‘Padmavati’ was much-awaited of the year.
Glimpses of Ranveer as Alaudin Khilji in the ‘Padmavati’ trailer has given people goosebumps, but there was a time when Ranveer couldn’t even get his scenes right.
Revealing the same to Rolling Stone, he said, “Mr. Bhansali has always had a very hands-off approach with me in the previous two films, (Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani); he lets me free style, but this time he had a clear vision of what he wanted, the way he wanted Alauddin Khijli to be. So, take his direction and try and apply it was very challenging, some times. And there were times I wouldn’t get it and I’d leave the set and cry. And come back and try to finish it.”
He added, “I don’t cry very often, but I am not one of those people who don’t cry either. I cry, it’s okay, it’s healthy.”
‘Padmavati’ was supposed to release in theatres on December 1st but due to the Karni Sena controversy, it is still unsure of when will the movie release.
