This year belongs to Deol family!

It has really been an amazing year for the family. We never thought our three generations would come and deliver success at the same time. It’s been an overwhelming period for all of us. It started with Papa (Dharmender) — the audiences loved his role in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Bhaiya ki film Gadar 2 was a blockbuster and garnered great appreciation from both his fans/audiences. Then my nephew’s film Dono got a lot of acclaim.
This has happened for the first time that all the three generation actors in one family entertained on the big screen at the same time and created history. It’s magical.
My film, Animal will be soon striking the silver screen. The reaction that I have received for just a scene in the teaser is not only awe-inspiring but feels like the hard work and patience that we have pursued is bearing fruits.
As actors when our work is appreciated we feel inspired and work harder.

Tips given to nephew, Rajveer

I didn’t give him any tips. He is like my son. I would always wish our children to do well and learn alongside like how we have learnt. I can discuss with my children but can’t teach them anything as such. When we were young our elders had a chat with us, and we picked up a leaf or two from them. Similarly, we feel happy if our children too could do the same from our interactions. Learning from elders helps you progress.

On Animal teaser

Just a glimpse of me in the teaser is being appreciated so much. Credit for this goes to director Sandeep Vanga. He deserves a pat on his back for having cut the teaser in an entertaining way. When I shot for the film I would never watch the monitor. But when I saw the teaser for the first time I was like what? Is it me?? I was excited to see that I can look so different. I am happy people like my glimpse in the teaser. The director has shown (in the teaser) every nuance of what he has shot, in a way that this is what is there in the film. I am lucky that one shot of mine seen in the teaser has left a great impression on the audiences.

On Ranbir Kapoor

I am a great fan of Ranbir, and always loved his work. Animal is an emotional and a violent love drama.  It is one of those different genre films in which Sandeep brings out various elements in every character differently.

On Bollywood stars playing baddies in Tollywood

I think it’s great; as actors we like to be working in different Indian languages. I am doing a Telugu film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan. But I cannot give away the details about it.
