Mahinderjeet Singh Bitta wants Ajay Devgn in his biopic
Bitta has survived 15 assassination attempts including surviving bombs being hurled at him.
A film is slated to be made on the popular terror fighter Mahinderjeet Singh Bitta, who survived an assassination bid in the mid-1990s, and now heads the All India Anti-Terrorist Front, fighting against terror despite being a common man. Producers Shailendra Singh and Priya Gupta are producing the film tentatively titled Zinda Shaheed.
Bitta has survived 15 assassination attempts including surviving bombs being hurled at him.
“The soul of the film’s subject is patriotic. Bittaji’s life story shows that it is always the nation before everything else,” explains Singh about the core idea behind the biopic.
Journalist turned film producer, Priya Gupta, who had taken the idea of the film to Bitta long ago said that his life is a living example of how one puts his life before everything else.
“One of the most important things that he did was to fight against terror without any post or without wearing a uniform. Secondly, we consider our lives to be very precious and put it above everything else. Few people survive a single blast. He has gone through it 15 times and he is the world’s most bombed man. Even though he is standing here, there are a lot of bones in his body which are not the way it should have been,” says Gupta.
Bitta, who loved Ajay Devgn in the film The Legend of Bhagat Singh, has been a huge fan of the actor and hints that he would like Ajay to play the role. “I really liked Ajay in the film because he felt like Bhagat Singh. But the decision to cast any actor will rest with the makers,” says Bitta.
