The controversy surrounding the Pyaar Manga Hai Tumhi Se remix refuses to die down, polarising opinion on the new-age twist the song has received.

The recreated version of the song stars Zarine Khan and Ali Fazal, steaming up the screen as a newly married couple. The duo shot for the T-Series song in Georgia, baring it all and showing some sizzling chemistry between them.

However, not a lot of people seem to be cool with the sultry content of the video.
We caught up with Ali during the promotions of Happy Bhag Jayegi, and quizzed him on people’s negative opinion on the video.

A nonchalant Ali points at the high viewership figures the video has gained. “Come on, it wasn’t that bad! We’ve touched more than three million views and in fact, T-Series called me to tell me they were amazed at the online traffic the song had generated.”

Waving off the negative buzz around the video, Ali adds, “I remember when the video went live first, I was trashed thoroughly. However, I was expecting such reactions. Some of the nice people (the intellectual crowd) gave me a bashing and asked why I had done this.”

The original track was composed by Bappi Lahiri for the movie College Girl in 1978, and starred Sachin  Pilgaonkar and Bindiya Goswami. The recreated version has been sung by Armaan Malik and Neeti Mohan.
