To dignify it with a response is beneath me: Pahlaj Nihalani
Makers should restrict people who handle and travel with the censor copy of their films, says Pahlaj Nihalani.
CBFC Chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani doesn’t know whether to be amused or exasperated with those alleging his involvement in the Internet leak of what seems to be a censor board copy of Udta Punjab. Hitting out against such allegations, Nihalani said, “First of all, I am a producer myself. I know what it feels like to lose substantial revenue due to piracy. And secondly, it would be outrageous and stupid of me to do something like that. To even dignify this allegation with a response is beneath me.”
Pointing fingers at the makers and asking them to handle censor copies with more care, Nihalani also added, “Makers should restrict people who handle and travel with the censor copy of their films. And just because the copy is marked for us at the CBFC, it doesn’t mean we are answerable if it gets waylaid.”
