Sakshi Malik does India proud, Bollywood congratulates her
Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and several others stars congratulated the 23-year-old wrestler on Twitter.
Mumbai: Sakshi Malik ended on Thursday India’s wait for a medal at the Rio Olympics, bagging a bronze in the 58 kg women’s freestyle wrestling category and celebrities from the film industry applauded her heroic act on Twitter.
India has been waiting eagerly for a medal for almost two weeks since the start of the event. The ‘medal hopes’ like shooter Abhinav Bindra, badminton star Saina Nehwal, tennis stars Leander Paes and Sania Mirza, among others had failed to live up to the expectations, returning empty-handed from the sporting event. However, Sakshi has ended that wait with her medal win.
Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and several others stars congratulated the 23-year-old wrestler on Twitter.
