Harshvardhan Rane recently acted in a short film, Hiraeth — a word he fell for. The actor is preparing for Bejoy Nambiar’s next but with a few months in hand, he took up a short film offer.

Recalling how he agreed to do the film Harshvardhan said, “The way it’s love at first sight, this was love at first sound. ‘Hiraeth’ means homesickness to a home to which you cannot return, the grief of the lost places of your past. I fell in love with the word and instantly connected to it. It reminded me of the days when I had left my home in Gwalior and I had that strange pull in my stomach and now I can so relate to this word.”

Talking about the experience he said, “I have seen Aarti Bagdi’s (director) previous work and she plays around the core of human emotions that I connected with. I love to put myself in a situation where I get to break a few things and construct a few cells in me. This was a different experience and it has changed som-ething in me.”

His first short film, Infinity, had got him noticed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and he had offered him to play one of the characters in Ram Leela.
