Pratyusha Banerjee suicide: We mutually decided to abort the child, says Rahul
The two decided to terminate the pregnancy as they were living in together and were only planning to get married in November.
Mumbai: Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has finally spoken up about her alleged pregnancy to a popular leading daily.
When asked about the reports circulating regarding Pratyusha's pregnancy and abortion, Rahul revealed that she indeed did undergo a pregnancy test as she had missed her periods, which turned out to be positive. However, they mutually decided to abort it as they were not married and only living in together.

Rahul refuted the rumours of leaving her alone to deal with the situation and claimed that he was the one who got medicines prescribed for her. Apparently, they decided to terminate the pregnancy thinking about their future as they were planning to get married in November.
He also spoke about the post-mortem report and said that someone has circulated a recording claiming it to be hers where she speaks about the reason behind committing suicide.
On April 19, Medical investigations indicated that she may have been pregnant before death. This information was part of the report of the doctors in J J Hospital after they performed medical examination on the tissues of the 24-year-old as well as that of her uterus, a police officer, who is close to the investigation, said.

Citing the report, the officer also said that there was a premature death of the foetal cell, which raised the question whether she had opted for an abortion or due to some reasons the (foetal) cell was damaged.
Pratyusha, who shot to fame as 'Anandi' in celebrated drama series "Balika Vadhu", allegedly committed suicide on April 1 by hanging herself on the ceiling fan in her apartment in Kandivali on the western suburb of Mumbai.
