Exclusive: Not Shraddha, but Kriti Sanon was the original Half Girlfriend

Filmmaker Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend, with Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, wasn’t designed to be that way. Kriti Sanon was to play Shraddha’s part but due to the former’s commitment to Raabta, that didn’t work out.

Says the director, “When I got the script, I definitely wanted to meet Kriti but somehow the dates didn’t work. I wanted to shoot the film in June and that wasn’t working out with Kriti. She is a professional actor and was committed to her project on hand. She is a great girl, we are friends and will work together in future,” he added.

When Kriti showed no signs of taking on the film, Mohit approached Shraddha, making Half Girlfriend his third film with the actress.
