A bit of fire and a bit of ice — Chennai is gearing up to welcome Bollywood actress Sunny Leone and singer Neha Kakkar into our city! The duo will be singing and shakin’ a leg for our makkal, in a show titled Fire & Ice. What makes this unique is the fact that it is in support of Aaj ki Naari, an organisation that enables women empowerment. Adding to the glam factor, three models-turned-actresses Gehana Vasisth, Veronika Singh and Sidhika Sharma, will also be performing special numbers.

Speaking about the event, C.H Ram, managing director and CEO of Tinacca Media Group, which is organising the event, says, “Fire & Ice is a celebration of the emancipation of the Indian woman breaking free from the shackles of a conservative social mind set. Right from the choice of the artistes to the theme behind the event, the concept is truly one-of-a-kind.”

Agreeing with him is Gehana, who says that she is really excited to come to Chennai and set the stage ablaze. “I’m based in Mumbai, so this is the first time I’m coming to Chennai. I’ve heard a lot about the people and the place, so I’m really looking forward to performing here.”

She adds, “I will be part of three acts, which prove that today’s women are strong and not needy — we’re turning into the men we want to marry!” The pretty lady also says that she had a blast working with Sunny and Neha — “They’re both good friends of mine and we had a great time rehearsing for the show.”

Theatre artist, dancer and aspiring actress Veronika Singh is also gearing up to present a stellar show — “Mine is going to be a solo performance, and I’m looking forward to meeting Sunny Leone as well, who I respect a lot for the way she’s shaped her life and established herself. I’ve even taken classes in preparation! Since the audience is going to be massive, my dance act will have a variety of genres in it, and I’m rehearsing along with the rest of the crew actively.”

She also says, “Since the theme is ‘women empowerment’, it makes me even prouder to be associated with this, and I hope the initiative can make a difference. Personally, my act should also pique the interest of filmmakers in Kollywood, I hope!”
