From being an actor-producer to being a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador, Dia Mirza juggles her myriad of roles with ease. For the last couple of years, she has been actively focussing her conversations on environmental and wildlife conservation.

And now that an invisible virus has engulfed the world, the Sanju actress believes that everything bears unmistakable ties with nature.

While celebrating the International Day for Biological Diversity yesterday, the actress says, “Today, more than ever, we, as a planet, are called to reflect on our relationship with the nature. The pandemic has highlighted how our bond with the environment has existed well-before everything else. Everything we do is ultimately tied to nature to create one people and planet.”

However this year, Dia feels that everything seems difficult right now, and this is an opportunity to reflect and find solutions. “I truly believe that nature repairs itself and never stops giving. But we must learn to give back as well.”

The actress intends to continue #DownToEarthWithDee a series of dialogues to reconnect with nature – that she started on April 8 with R. Madhavan, Zoya Akhtar, Swanand Kirkire,  Gaur Gopal Das, and Ankur Tiwari.

“Creative arts, cinema, documentaries, and photography are powerful tools for social change and conservation, I urge people to adapt and adopt a lifestyle that increases the resilience of nations and communities as we recover from this pandemic,” she concludes.
