There have been rumours that filmmaker Imtiaz Ali wanting to work on a sequel for Jab We Met with Shahid Kapoor. It’s been over a decade since the film released, and Shahid and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who were a couple back then, have gone their own ways.

Now, Imtiaz says that the sequel’s work is in progress, but nothing concrete can be said at the moment. “Shahid and I wanted to do a film together. Hopefully we will. But these things are announced only when the fine print is done. Which is why we’re not announcing anything. There’s no secret. I cannot say anything till I finalise; we won’t issue a statement,” Imtiaz says firmly.

So, will Kareena be a part of the film? “That thought hasn’t come to us yet. We’ve not come this far,” he asserts.

Shahid Kapoor even told Pinkvilla that the movie is not 'Jab We Met 2'. He said, "Yes, Imtiaz (Ali) and I are working together, but it's not Jab We Met 2!"
