Ali's last appearance in a Bollywood film was in 'Tere Bin Laden 2'.

Mumbai: Though Fawad Khan got to stay in Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,’ albeit in a heavily compromised role, Ali Zafar seems to not be as lucky.

The actor who was a part of Gauri Shinde’s original ensemble of actors in her upcoming ‘Dear Zindagi,’ his role has been done away with, if rumours are to be believed.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, producers Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, who himself features in the film, have decided that it’s better not to raise a fresh bout of controversy, in the wake of the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ hullabaloo.

Ali Zafar was to play one of Alia’s romantic partners, which also includes Angad Bedi, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor. Since there’s no time for a reshoot, it can only mean that’s one less a liaison.

Ali Zafar had earlier also been omitted out of the film’s first trailer.

The film, which was supposed to clash with Vidya Balan’s ‘Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh,’ will now have a solo release on November 25, since the latter got pushed to December 2.
