Thackeray trailer: Another Nawazuddin Siddiqui triumph
Siddiqui is essaying the role of politician Bal Thackeray in the film, which also features Amrita Rao as Meena Tai Thackeray.

One of the keenly awaited trailers, Thackeray, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui was released today. The hard-hitting political drama film is based on the life of Bal Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena. Siddiqui is essaying the titular role in the film, which also features Amrita Rao as his wife, Meena Tai Thackeray.
After the sensational teaser, the newly released trailer gives a glimpse into Bal Thackeray’s contentious political life and his rise in the Maharashtra political circuit. After playing Saadat Hasan Manto in Manto this year, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has nailed it as the politician with his spectacular performance. With Thackeray, it looks like Nawazuddin is all set to add another feather in his glorious hat.
The actor wrote on Twitter that Thackeray was the most difficult role he has ever played.

It was reported on Wednesday that film had run into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), who has objected to four lines of dialogue and two scenes in the upcoming film. "Yes, they have raised objections on some dialogues and scenes, four dialogues and two scenes to be precise. We are legally dealing the matter with CBFC and we hope the matter will be sorted out soon," said Shiv Sena Parliamentarian and producer of the film Sanjay Raut to ANI.
Directed by Abhijit Panse, Thackeray is slated to release on January 25, 2019.
